Initial Nutrition & Feeding Asssement

75-Minute Nutrition Consultation

Online: S$285; Home Visit: S$340

This assessment is our starting point and the foundation for the work we do together. It helps us begin to understand your child or teenager's nutritional needs, their relationship with food, and the many factors shaping their eating - whether that's sensory differences, appetite changes, body image concerns, growth demands or high training loads.

What We Cover

During this session, we explore:

1. Nutrition & Growth

  • Growth history and patterns

  • Nutrient intake and adequacy

  • Sport and/or exercise demands

2. Eating Behaviours & Daily Food Experiences

  • Mealtime schedules and routines

  • Sensory preferences

  • Stress, anxiety, or avoidance around food and mealtimes

  • Compensatory behaviours, body image distress

3. Medical & Developmental Background

  • Relevant medical history

  • Medication, allergies, and conditions that may affect feeding

  • Neurodivergence, emotional regulation, and executive functioning

  • Training schedules and performance demands (for athletes)

4. Your Concerns, Goals & Capacity

  • What feels worrying, stressful, or exhausting

  • What you’ve already tried

  • Your family’s values, routines, and available capacity right now

This session meets your family where you are — whether you're navigating sensory feeding challenges, food refusal, early disordered eating patterns, or the demands of a growing athlete.

What You Will Leave With

  • A clearer picture of what’s contributing to your child or teen's current eating patterns

  • The first steps forward - tailored to your family

  • A written summary of the session, sent 3 working days

  • A honest conversation about what ongoing support could look like, so you leave knowing what comes next — not wondering

  • Reassurance and direction so you no longer feel like you are figuring this out alone

Who This Session Is For

This assessment is aimed at families needing support with:

  • General nutrition and menu planning

  • Selective or “fussy” eating (including Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, i.e. ARFID or sensory-based eating differences)

  • Neurodivergent children and teens, e.g. ADHD and Autism

  • Youth athletes with high training volumes

  • Gastrointestinal concerns

  • Food allergies or intolerances, including Celiac Disease.

  • Concern around growth or weight (through a weight-inclusive lens)

  • Early intervention of body image distress or increasing food anxiety

  • Outpatient eating disorder nutrition support

  • Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward with nutrition

For younger children (<12), I generally work directly with parents/caregivers.
Older children and teenagers may join part or all of the session, depending on appropriateness and the level of support required.

If You Need to Discuss More Than One Child

Some families want to explore nutrition or eating concerns for two siblings, for example, a 'picky' eater and a teen athlete.

An extended assessment is available; please contact me directly to arrange it.

After the Assessment

This is where we map out the road ahead together.

Most families find that the real shift happens across two or three follow-up sessions — once there's been time to try things at home, see what lands, and adjust together. Change with children and teenagers is rarely a straight line, and having someone alongside you as you navigate that makes a real difference.

We'll talk honestly about whether ongoing support makes sense for your family, what that looks like in practice, and whether any other practitioners — such as an occupational therapist, psychologist, or paediatrician — might be helpful to bring in alongside our work.

You don't have to figure out the next step alone. I'll help you navigate it.

For those living in South Africa, I am contracted in with the major South African Medical Aid Groups. Contact me for billing & payment procedures.

Open Sliding Scale Option

I reserve two sliding-scale spots in my practice for families with financial difficulties. These options allow you to decide how much you can pay for a session. A rule of thumb is to pay me what you earn as a family in 90 minutes of work. When these slots are full, I have a waitlist.
